The 39th Annual Hope Gala is one of the most prominent fundraising events in Birmingham that is making a difference in the everyday lives of individuals touched by cancer. This event raises money to help the American Cancer Society save lives by funding groundbreaking cancer research, supporting education and prevention efforts, and providing free information and critical services for people with cancer who need them. The Hope Gala provides a unique and entertaining experience to support the mission of the American Cancer Society.
The evening will feature a fabulous dinner and cocktails, dancing along to live entertainment and topped off with incredible silent and live auctions and event enhancing activities.
The American Cancer Society has contributed to a 26 percent decline in cancer death rates in the US since 1991. That means we have helped save more than 2.3 million lives during that time. By supporting the Hope Gala, you are helping us continue to save more lives from cancer.
The Hope Gala will be in honor of Barry McRae, a man loved by many in our community. Together with Barry's friends and family, join us as we celebrate his memory.
For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
